VII Liutauras Vėbra International Oboe Competition 2018
April 27 – 29, 2018
Dedicated in memoriam of the oboist Liutauras Vėbra
The main task of this competition is to guide young oboists on the path of professional musician by giving them chance to reveal their talents next to others students around the world with same ambitions.
I. The form of competition
According to the age all participants are distributed into five groups.
Age range depends on November 30, 2017 (how old is the participant on that day).
I gr. – 10, 11, 12 years,
II gr. – 13, 14, 15 years,
III gr. – 16, 17, 18 years,
IV gr. – 19, 20, 21, years,
V gr. – 22, 23, 24 years.
II. The place of competition
The competition will take place in Kaunas J. Naujalis music high school on the April 27 – 29, 2018.
III. The system of value
Major criterions are: musicality-artistry, the interpretation of the composition, technique, intonation and ability to use the instrument. The system of value consists of 25 points. The commission will be pronounced on the day of competition. The decisions of jury are final.
The winners of all groups with I, II and III places will be awarded with diplomas and special prizes.
One of all groups winners will be granted with the special Liutauras Vėbra name‘s prize- Grand Prix.
Laureate’s teachers and concertmasters will be awarded too.
V. Participant’s payment
Entry fee of International competition is 40 euro. Accommodation and catering expenses are not included. The additional information will be given during the registration.
Person, who wish to take part in L.Vėbra name‘s international competition has to have these documents:
- Participant’s photography;
- The description of creative activity;
- Filled in the members form;
- An official confirmation of candidate’s age (birth certificate or copy of passport).
- Proof of payment (copy of check).

1 group – Gaetano Donizetti – Sonata, II part Allegro for oboe and piano;
Pranciškus Beinaris – „Prayer“(„Malda“) for oboe solo.
2 group – Henry Purcell – Sonata, II- III parts (Adagio con espressione. Vivace) for oboe and piano;
Walter Draeger – Three Miniatures, III miniature (Molto vivace) for oboe and piano;
Vaida Striaupaitė-Beinarienė – „Through the Woods“(„Per girią girelią“) for oboe and piano.
3 group – Charles Camille Saint-Saëns – Sonata for oboe and piano II part;
Henri Busser – Asturias for oboe and piano;
Loreta Narvilaitė – “Tavo blakstienos paliečia mano prisiminimų lūpas” for oboe solo.
4 group– Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Concerto C-dur I part and cadenza, for oboe and piano;
Benjamin Godard – Legende Pastorale for oboe and piano op. 138;
Algirdas Martinaitis – “Muzikinė auka” for oboe solo.
5 group – Alessandro Marcello – Concerto d-moll II part Adagio, for oboe and piano;
Ralph Vaughan Williams – Concerto in A minor for Oboe and piano I part;
Zita Bružaitė – „When butterflies close their eyes in autumn shadows“ („Kai rudenio šešėliuos plaštakės užsimerks“) for oboe solo.
New compositions will be uploaded to www.muzikosidejos.lt/
All programme can be performed from the notes or without them. All parts of competition can be filmed, recorded, taken photographs without additional payment.
